Patrick McGann, DDS
Patrick McGann, DDS

Dr. Patrick McGann is a native of the east metro, growing up in Cottage Grove and Woodbury. After ten years of private practice in the west metro he is thrilled to now be working in Lake Elmo.  He currently resides in Bayport with his wife Jody and their two kids.

Dr. McGann attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry from 1998 to 2002 where he served as President of his class. He then completed a residency at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center with a focus in oral surgery.  Currently, Dr. McGann is an alumni member of the Dawson Academy, a world-renown organization providing instruction on complex restorative and esthetic cases.

Dr. McGann is an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Dental School and enjoys working with students at outreach clinics.  He has volunteered for many years at the Hope Dental Clinic in St. Paul, supervising dental students as they treat patients from the community.  Dr. McGann also volunteers his dental expertise each year at Project Homeless, and he has traveled to Uganda on three occasions to treat children who would otherwise receive no dental care.

Amber
Amber, Hygienist

Amber joined McGann Family Dental in January of 2018. Before becoming a dental hygienist, she was a dental assistant and has been in the dental field since 2009. Amber has worked in a variety of specialties, including oral surgery, endodontics and general dentistry. As a child, Amber loved going to see her dental hygienist and hopes she can have the same impression with you. “I love being a hygienist. My goal for you is to provide you the best possible care in a caring and gentle manner. I want you to feel comfortable and will strive to help you achieve and maintain a healthy mouth.” 

Amber has always had a passion for education and leadership.  While completing her dental hygiene degree at Century College, Amber had the opportunity to serve as the secretary of the Dental Hygiene Community Club. When she was in the dental assisting program at Dakota County Technical College, Amber served as a member on the Dental Assistant Club and was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society. In the Spring of 2020, Amber graduated from Metro State University with her degree of Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. 

Amber also enjoys volunteering.  Whether helping out at organizations like Give Kids a Smile, delivering oral health presentations at local elementary schools, or volunteering at Hope dental clinic in St. Paul, Amber loves giving back to the community.  

Being a native to the east metro suburbs, Amber is excited to serve the community in which she grew up.  Her husband and her currently live in Woodbury with their four children and dog. She enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, reading, and doing arts and crafts.

Melissa
Melissa, Hygienist

Melissa has 21 years of dental experience.  Before starting as a dental hygienist, she worked as a dental assistant for ten years.  She has worked mostly in general dentistry and also has experience in orthodontics, interceptive orthodontics, and TMD.  Melissa went to Century College during high school to get her dental assisting degree, and worked while getting her dental hygiene degree, also at Century College.

For the first six years of her life she moved around the world as her father was in the Air Force.  When he left active duty, he joined the Air Force reserves and her family settled in Cottage Grove.  She considers herself an East Metro native.

“I love working in dentistry.  I look forward to getting to know my patients, and feel as if I am catching up with a friend when they come in for their visits.”

Melissa lives in Cottage Grove with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys cooking for her family and friends, as well as spending time at the family cabin near Brainerd.

Jean
Jean, Assistant

Jean has had an interest in the field of dentistry since 7th grade after watching a commercial for dental assisting school.  She enjoy’s making the patient feel relaxed and comfortable during the procedure.  In her spare time she can be found catching up with friends over a good meal and playing with Max, her ragdoll cat.  She believes in continuing her dental education and volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul.

Annette
Annette, Assistant

Annette has worked as a licensed dental assistant and at the front desk for over 25 years. Most of the time she will be the one greeting you when you come in and can answer any questions you may have. If not upfront, she is in the clinical area helping. On the side she also trains other dental offices on digital x-ray software. She lives in the northern Twin Cities area with her husband of over 30 years and two dogs. They have two grown sons. One lives in Texas and the other is back in Minnesota after being in the Navy. She enjoys volunteering with a teen group and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Traveling is one of her favorite things to do with only a few states left to complete. She enjoys being outside on the water and walking the dogs with family and friends.

Chris
Chris, Office Manager

Chris joined McGann Family Dental in October 2021, but has known Dr McGann and his family for many years. Previously, Chris worked primarily in Finance with a few companies in the Twin Cities (Supervalu, Carlson Companies, St Jude Medical, and Ecolab) and he started his career as a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick. He has a degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and an MBA in Finance from the University of St Thomas. Chris lives in Woodbury with his wife Karla and their two children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends.
